Alternativet is looking for 2 representatives to conduct a training course in Nairobi (Kenya) in the last week of August. You will be conducting training in either internal governance & party administration or financial management & fundraising. Flight ticket, local transport, accommodation, and meals will be covered by project funding.
About the Project
Alternativet is coordinating a capacity-building project in Eastern Africa together with its new partner, the Eastern African Green Federation (EAGF). Funded by the Danish Institute for Parties and Democracy (DIPD), this project’s main objective is to strengthen four national green parties in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and Burundi. Exchange of experiences, workshops, trainings, and inspiration visits will be part of the project, aiming at encouraging international, regional and national policy development and political positioning. The project runs until the end of 2020.
Application process: 8 July - 1 August, 2019. Note: Selected candidates will be informed in the second week of August.
Expected dates for the trip: 3-5 days in the last week of August. You will be informed about the exact dates in the near future.
About the Activity:

Day 1 & Day 2 (covered by Alternativet)
The Eastern African national party leaders will receive training in internal governance, party administration, financial management and fundraising.
Day 3 (covered by a local expert)
A local expert will conduct a workshop on Policy development in climate change, biodiversity, and natural resources. The Eastern African national party leaders will identify key areas in which to engage. The development of a common stand on climate change, biodiversity and natural resources policies will follow, once they are back in their respective countries.
What are we looking for?
- 1 representative with expertise in internal governance, party administration
- 1 representative with expertise in financial management and fundraising
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English
- A very good knowledge of Alternativet as an organisation
- Experience working in a multicultural environment will be an advantage
- A lot of enthusiasm
